About us

Our Philosophy

  • We believe that the primary focus of an early childhood environment must be the individual child.

  • We believe that children learn through play and an active environment.

  • We believe that children need to feel safe, secure and supported within their environment.

  • We believe that families are the most important people in a child’s life.

  • We believe that each child should be respected in every possible way.

Our Educators

We employ a team of qualified, enthusiastic, skilled and experienced early childhood professionals who are committed and dedicated to working in the early childhood education and care industry.

Each member of our team is viewed as a key person in the learning and development of each child. We strive to foster and support quality interactions and the building of quality relationships to provide children with the best possible support, education and care.

We provide a working environment where our educators are recognised and acknowledged for their efforts and dedication to the children and their families, our service and its programs, the local community and the wider early childhood sector.

Play is the focus of all programs offered at Samford Pines. Programs are play based, child centred, hands on and designed to foster the holistic development of each child.

All programs are underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Our programs celebrate diversity, creativity and kindness and are rich in the centre’s values, which are embedded throughout the curriculum. Learning opportunities are flexible, stimulating, challenging and tailored to suit the individual needs and abilities of the children.

Our programs are enhanced through our strong connection with the outdoors and our natural environment. We believe that through these connections, children gain opportunities to develop an appreciation of the natural world around them and an awareness of the importance of our environment.

Bush Kindy

Bush Kindy is an enrichment program that provides children with opportunities to safely explore a diverse wild outdoor space on our centre grounds, where child-led play, investigation, curiosity, experimentation and enquiry-based learning are fostered.

Bush Kindy offers children a place to safely explore risk, based on their ability and confidence.

Transition to School

We recognise that the transition to school is a time of change that can be both exciting and full of uncertainty. We work closely with our local school community to build strong relationships to support children in making a smooth and seamless transition to the school environment.

We aim to build a positive experience for children so that they can meet future transitions throughout their lives with trust and confidence.

Our Facilities

Indoor

Our indoor learning environments are purposefully set up to support children in experiencing a sense of belonging and security. Spaces are flexible and are shaped through shared observations and reflections. A variety of open-ended materials are provided to trigger a sense of wonder, foster development, promote learning, and provoke investigations and intentional teaching moments.

Outdoor

Our outdoor environment works hand-in-hand with our indoor environments to provide an effective indoor/outdoor program. Both spaces are viewed as of equal importance in the children’s development, regardless of their age.

Garden

Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme—find them all in our herb and vegetable garden, along with tomatoes, beans and other seasonal plants. We also have a range of edible native plants, providing dedicated Bush Tucker learnings. The children enjoy watching how food and plants grow through care and attentiveness.

Bees

What’s all the buzz about? We’ve got a native stingless beehive and some friendly bees working together to show the children where their honey comes from. The bees also help out in pollinating the gardens of our playspaces.

Paved Bike Track

The children love to zip around on our paved bike track. There’s plenty of tricycles and helmets for the children and even more space for safe riding, as well as a repurposed petrol bowser to fill up those imaginary petrol tanks. Vroom!

Sandpits and a Mud Kitchen

There’s plenty of sand for playing and digging in our sandpits, as well as a mud kitchen where children can perfect the art of baking the perfect mud pie!

Swings, Slides and so much more!

Our outdoor play space also features traditional swings and slides, and an obstacle course that changes on a daily basis to provide children with a unique challenge every day.
